After rehearsing our presentation multiple times we made a few minor adjustments so that we fitted it within a 6 minute time limit. Unfortunately this meant we couldn't go as in depth as we would of liked to as we thought it would be more important to get across key points mentioned in the chapter. Our final Presentation can be viewed here:
The slides above are the ones I used.
It's also a good idea to keep it simple rather than rambling on for too long. Your aim should be to communicate your ideas or educate the audience - body language, smiling and keeping eye contact with the audience are also important things! I read up on more tips here Effective Presentations -which is basically the exact same thing Conánn told us in class. Personally I think I performed a lot better on this presentation in terms of actually focusing on the audience and what I was telling them rather than staring at the laptop or projection. Our team also did a pretty good job too and the rehearsing definitely paid off!
We also got told how to layout our presentations in a more suitable way either by using a grid or making it clear which parts where most important (that we wanted to direct attention to most). So this would be like the titles being first, the sub headings second and then what follows after that- if we want the audience to notice certain parts we need to make it clear, concise and laid out in a way that they can follow. The feedback and tips are certainly something to take into consideration for next time.

After talking with the group we've decided to spilt up the chapter into sections. I put forward the layout below to group as something for us to follow- each of us picked what section we wanted to do. I am 1. , Leon is 2. , Viola is 3. and Veronika is 4. When reading about The Circular Story Form and I already had a film in mind that followed this form- Lord of the Rings. In the first LOTR film The Fellowship of the Ring (after a prologue) we begin the journey in the Shire. In the final LOTR film, Return of the King, the ending scene shows Sam Wise back in Shire- so the journey ends where it started. I thought this would be a good example to use as it follows the circular form exactly. It is also the exact same in the Hobbit films. Another film that follows this form is The Chronicles of Narnia—The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. At first I didn't realise but when remembering the film and looking back over footage- Lucy first finds the Wardrobe, this scene is where the journey begins. The ending scene is then all of the siblings falling out of the wardrobe when the journey is over, leaving them back exactly where they started.
SE7VEN (1995) Directed by David Finche An example Viola was looking at for Sadder but no Wiser was SE7EN. We basically concluded that:
Sadder but Wiser= Circular Story Form Sadder but NO Wiser=Open-ended Story Form But her take on it was that, yes this is a sadder but no wiser situation, but you could argue that it follows the circular story form rather than the open-ending. Our 'hero' becomes a fool at the end, by by doing what he does, but he ends the story therefore completing it. It's an interesting take on it that I'm sure she explains much better in her own words, I was able to get a better understanding after watching this scene. This scene alone had me sitting on the edge of my seat with hand over mouth.
